  • PRO’s: It has 7 charging stations and is extremely close to Tuscon Airport.
CON’s: I was there in July 2025, 3 of their 7 Tesla Destination Chargers were out of order and an ICE vehicle was parked in one of the 4 charger parking spots. Just like parking in a handicap spot… Arizona law (ARS § 28-876) prohibits parking in EV charging spaces unless the vehicle is fully electric and properly registered with a special AFV plate or sticker. Violations carry a significant financial penalty of at least $350.

Who may park in EV charging spaces
    Only motor vehicles that:
Are powered exclusively by electricity, and
Have been issued an alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) special plate or sticker (per ARS § 28‑2416),
may stop, stand, or park in spaces designated specifically for parking and charging EVs.

    Enforcement and penalties
If a vehicle violates this statute, a law enforcement officer will issue a civil traffic violation. The violator (either the operator or the registered owner) is liable for a minimum civil penalty of $350, which is deposited into the state general fund.

    Example of Violation Scenario:
If you park a gasoline or hybrid vehicle—or even an EV without the required specialized plate—in a designated EV charging spot, you’re subject to a $350 fine under Arizona law.
